The Tacoma has been completely redesigned. The fourth Tacoma generation brings with it more trim levels, powertrains, technologies, amenities and capabilities.
The base powertrain for the new Toyota Tacoma near Boston features an eight-speed automatic transmission mated to a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes 228 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque. You have the option of either rear- or four-wheel drive, and some trim levels dictate the drive layout. Beyond the base trim, the Tacoma has the iForce, which is a hybrid powertrain based on the turbo four. You have the option of a six-speed manual transmission, in which case it makes 270 hp and 310 lb.-ft., and it makes 278 hp and 317 lb.-ft. with the automatic. You also have the option of the iForce Max, which is automatic only and makes 326 hp and 465 lb.-ft.
An 8-inch infotainment touch screen with all the modern bells and whistles drivers expect is standard with the Tacoma, and our dealership serving Norwood Boston Dedham Westwood also includes the new 14-inch display with the top trims. Most driver assists are standard, including adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring is optional.
Maximum towing and payload capabilities have not been officially released as of this writing. Max towing will be at least been 6,500 pounds, and max payload will be greater than 1,700 pounds. There are a wide range of mechanical options available for the Tacoma, including off-road suspensions and all of the other off-road enhancements that have earned this truck the affectionate moniker the “Taco.”

The color options for the Toyota Tacoma are not fully announced as of this writing. Toyota has confirmed Black, Blue Crush Metallic, Bronze Oxide, Celestial Silver Metallic, Ice Cap, Solar Octane, Supersonic Red, Underground, Wind Chill Pearl and a yet-unnamed 10th option.
